Yeah, I agree with what some other people have said. He has her using dumbells he’d be using, not ones she should be using. This is a pretty complex workout with lots of steps to it (considering typical exercises have 2 steps, up and back down), and with all the wobbling it’s clear she’d be better served with lighter weights.
That aside, it’s a pretty solid exercise. Gets a lot of muscle groups involved directly, as well as others (like your core for stabalizing) indirectly.

Also to clear something up. “Heavy” is relative. For example, say y > x. Doing 20-30 reps with x pound dumbells will get you no where when you could “easily” do 8-10 reps with y pounds.
Do whatever is heavy for YOU not the person standing next to you.

Just to clear up some things. There is no such thing as toning muscle by using light weights. “Toned” muscle is visible muscle due to hypertrophy and low fat. Aka lift as heavy as you can(for 8-12 reps) and eat right/cardio.

wobbly feet wobbly hands and leaning too much forward in squat on the toes….heels getting up from the ground…guess she was using too much weight…..can one do it with a barbell, instead of two dumbbells?

I would agree that the clean and jerk is arguably the most complete exercise of all time but not with dumbells. Done properly with a barbell is superior but good effort.

@sugarplum291 if you dont own any dumbells use some of your own house hold items. or you can go to target and buy some there. they are not that expensive. and if you havnt lifted weights in a while, or never I would start of with 5lbs each.

NO! I would not suggest that. Unless you can lift the weight. But I would suggest you use the weight you usually use, and then gradually go up in weight. But starting this exersie start of slow.

@JCrest87 - Yes they should because for fat burning and raising metobolic reasons the need to be a lot heavier than for toning reasons or toning type weights. From what I know this is what I understand. I am not a professional/ certified trainer.

Another good way to lose fat even if you can’t eat DIET foods is to get exercise at least 3 times a week and make it intense and if you can give extra and! make sure your metabolism is running all day if you can eat like fruits and veggtables throughout the day and then have your normals meals at normal times don’t eat tell your full, just till your not hungry. That’s how some famous people, and normal people that don’t also green tea boost your metabolism by up too 25% and yoga helps too
