Help Please- Healthy Diet Foods&Living..?
Okay, I am not only going on a diet, I’m going to try to turn my whole lifestyle around too. I want to eat healthier so I feel better physically and about myself. But first things first- I need to lose some weight, and so I was wondering, does anyone have some helpful food suggestions?? try to think cheap please if possible (because I’m a highschool student with only a weekend job, so I don’t make much money.) And also any helpful little routine excersises? I have the basics, but other ideas wouldn’t hurt to try out.
thanks!
Ah turning your life around is always a good call. In terms of losing weight, start by drinking only drinks with 0 calories, aka green tea and water if you can. That is a big part of it, and cheap too! Second, if your looking at a snack for when your at school, try something like unsalted almonds, they are a good source of protein. These are two decently cheap ideas. In terms of exercise, there is so much I could give you tips for. I have a lot of it posted at my website if youd like to go check it out.

There’s lots to choose from. For starters get some fruit, apples berries etc to snack on. As for other healthy varieties of foods (including food you might already like) check out something called Blue Menu from President’s Choice, they have healthier varieties of all their food products. Trust me when I looked what they had I was surprised. As for other foods try and take a look at these and see if you like them: Cheese strings, 100 Cal Snacks (Thinsations etc.) and there is a variety of Jello that is supposed to be only 5 cals a cup (I know right!). Good luck.

Dieting can be boring so it’s good to change it up and try new things!
It will help you stay on track. I’m 25 now, and in high school I weighed well over 200 lbs. My senior year I got sick of how I looked and decided to lose weight too. At first I did everything wrong, like not eat and take tons of diet pills but even though I lost a lot of weight that way initially, I still wasn’t tone. I started going to the gym regularly since I was about 19 and have been going ever since. I’ve seen a huge difference and only weigh about 150 (I’m tall, 5′9") pounds with lean muscle and am really into fitness and health. Hope this helps you though.
As far as exercise routines it is hard to just post things on here, there are a million different things you can do. I would try to work out 45 minutes to an hour or more, at least 5 or 6 days a week, include cardio and some light weight lifting to tone and build muscle. Muscle and fitness magazine gives me good workout tips sometimes and you can find some others on http://bodybuilding.com/. Hope that helps
any more questions feel free to ask!
P.S. Good luck on the lifestyle change. I know mine was a complete change and it’s not only benefited my health but I also am way more confident now. Stick with it and don’t give up!

Okay, this would probably save you money.
Do not buy ANYTHING with the following ingredients anywhere:
-High Fructose Corn Syrup
-Hydrogenated/Partially Hydrogenated ANYTHING
-Sugar (As one of the first 5 ingredients)
Suggestions: Check out the website Scoobys Workshop. Google that, it has meal suggestions for weight loss and easy workout things for losing weight.
But, since I hate having people list websites and tell me to do it…
Start:
Walk 30 minutes every day.
Eat three meals a day, breakfast - Lunch - Dinner.
Eat a small snack consisting of Fruits or Veggies in between each one when you get hungry.
Make sure each meal does not have over 10% calories from fat.
Try avoiding sugary foods, and fatty foods.
NO SODA AT ALL!!!!!!!
Avoid fast food.
Vegetables will be your best friend, as they are free foods, with almost ZERO calories, ZERO sugar, ZERO carbs, ZERO fat. But high in fiber.
Basic starting routines:
Start with 200 crunches every night.
Along with the 30 minute walk daily.
Jump Rope if you can for at least 5-10 minutes.
Do some lifting (Females: Lifting reduces fat. Males: Lifting builds muscle which helps burn calories later on.)
-Bicep Curls
-Tricep Kickbacks
-Squats (Hands linked behind head)
-Push-ups are always great
-Pull-ups also.
Start there and you’ll get there in no time.
MOTIVATION (Because you will get sick of it):
When you want that big bowl of ice-cream… just think: "Would I rather eat this Ice-Cream now, or have a hot body later on?"
Also, write notes to yourself by the snacks telling yourself that, and not to eat it. Write, "Remember, don’t eat me. Eat some veggies or fruit instead." It helps!!
Also, hang posters of what you want to look like up in your room to keep you motivated. Seeing your goal helps accomplish it.
(Your friends might be questioning you, but you know what you want, and you want to get it.)
GOOD LUCK!
Hope this helps.
