Little Tricks To Help You Lose Weight Fast

Yeah we all know that we are supposed to cut calories, do cardio and hit the gym to get in shape, but there are lots of little tricks you shouldn't ignore if you want to slim down quick.

Take The Stairs Taking the stairs instead of the elevator every day can help you burn some extra calories. It may not seem like a lot but it adds up. Over a period of a year, taking the stairs can burn off an extra five lbs. of fat.

You probably want to divide up your calories a little more, make some smaller meals. It will speed up your metabolism. Also, snacking on nuts isn't a good idea, they are very high fat and calorie. You should carefully measure out one serving and have that with a meal, or else you could be consuming much more fat than you think you are.
Peanut butter is also extremely high in calorie, so you might want to consider getting protein some other way.
Fruits sound good for dinner, but just remember just because fruits and vegetables are low calorie, doesn't mean they are zero calorie. Apples have about 100 calories, as do bananas. Good luck!
References :
On the surface, yes. A good breakfast is awesome to jump start your day, and eating healthy snacks is great practice to speed up your metabolism.

However, it depends on quantity and type of foods such as the nuts you are eating. I am not a fan of calorie counting, but you should try to control your total calories. Depending on the type of nut for example, eating a handful of nuts daily may help prevent weight gain and possibly promote weight loss. About 50g of certain nuts contains 4g of fat which is pretty good, if that is all you are eating and based on the type of nut you are eating. Other nuts e.g. cashews can be high in calorie & fat content. Check out this chart: http://www.novafeel.com/calories/calorie-chart-vegetables.htm

Also, I would only suggest about 4 pieces of fruit per day. Any food including fruit- if not in moderation can cause weight gain due to the sugars (even though better than processed sugars and fruit juice).

I will also incorporate a period of increased activity such as fast walking in your daily lifestyle.

If you're trying to lose you might want to try eating 5 smaller meals. Take for example what you have now and do this.

8:00 Breakfast 1/2 cup of oat meal or 1/2 cup raisin bran

10:00 Banana and Apple

12:00 Reduce the size of the Salad a little bit

2:00 Tuna or Salmon (vegetarian?)

5:00 Eat a smaller but normal dinner

Snack on unsalted nuts, cut out the peanut butter on the bread and use a little non-hydrogenated margarine. Try to get more Omega3's. Mix in some beans, lentils and tofu if you're a vegetarian. Reduce your sodium intake and drink lots of water. Of course exercise too.

Is my diet healthy to lose weight?
I'm 5'2 115 pounds trying to lose about 5-10 pounds.
I usually eat a big breakfast: 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1/2 cup organic raisin bran cereal with soymilk, a banana and apple
For lunch I usually have a nice big veggie salad sometimes with salmon or tuna. I do snack on nuts, whole wheat bread with peanut butter/almond butter.
Dinner i eat fruits.
I'm a vegetarian. Is my diet ok or do I need to change it to lose the weight?
